Last year, when we shared that Rise Gatherings would be hosting a women-only summer camp (okay, “spring” camp) in the Poconos for a weekend of wellness, we were all, understandably, very stoked. I mean, reliving your childhood camp experiences while celebrating women empowerment and working on your physical and mental wellbeing? Sign. Us. Up.

This year, Rise Gatherings is back again with another weekend retreat on the schedule for May 18 through 20. Like last year, the schedule will involve checking in on a Friday afternoon before gathering for a bonfire on Friday night. Saturday will be filled with workshops — attendees will have their choice of experiences and activities, including everything from chats on menstrual and reproductive health to goal setting workshops to an acupuncture clinic (say, what?!), to kayaking. After a dance party Saturday night, Sunday morning will feature a morning workout followed by a farewell breakfast.

Overall, Rise Gatherings co-founder Rachel Rubin says the weekend is really about taking the time for yourself and creating conversation around topics that matter. So while we’re still calling this a summer camp and you can still relive some of your fave childhood experiences, it’s really less about sneaking beer into your bunks and telling ghost stories, and more about eating a plant-powered menu and meditating (which, TBH, sounds way better to us anyways).

But the weekend is getting one major upgrade, which anyone who attended last year will celebrate. Last year, the accommodations were bunk-style, and there was no heating. Considering that it can get pretty nippy at night, even in May — and, as it turns out, it rained all weekend last year — it left some room for improvement. That’s why this year, the retreat is moving to Trail’s End Camp, which is still in the Poconos, and still just a few hours’ drive from Philly. But at Trail’s End, all accommodations have heating — and, a bigger plus, there are some private rooms available.

The accommodations fall into three categories: shared cabin, cottage, and inn. The inn rooms — which were going for $999 or $899 for the all-inclusive weekend — are sold out. The cottages — which are $949 for a single occupancy or $849 for a double or triple occupancy — have their own bathrooms. The shared cabins — which sleep six to eight at $749 per person — have a community bathroom for some extra bonding time.
